BuildingReports® Monthly Product Updates 2025

Stay updated with the latest from BuildingReports! In order for our Service Membership network to have the most current tools and services for the benefit of their customers, we consistently enhance our offerings and services. The most recent updates, designed in response to our member network’s feedback, reflect our dedication to continuous improvement.

APRIL 2025

Dashboard

  • For users who rely on the ScanHistory widget to look up device history, the Clear function has been updated to support seamless, back-to-back searches without needing to refresh the page.
  • The user experience has been improved for those with limited privileges—widgets now load smoothly, ensuring all users can reliably access their web portal without interruptions.
  • Updated the dashboard to reflect changes in a user’s role. Widgets that are no longer permitted under the user’s new role are now automatically removed.

DocDrive

  • The upload failure dialog has been enhanced to clearly display the correct per-document size limit of 30 MB, helping users better understand upload requirements and avoid confusion.

FireScan and SprinklerScan ACHC Reports

  • To provide greater flexibility in report generation, users can now select “All Chapters” when generating reports.

Get Reports

  • To support greater integrity and accountability, inspection comments can now only be edited by the user who originally entered them, ensuring that individual input remains accurate and secure.
  • Editing inspection frequency is now faster and easier—users can make changes directly from the inspection list without having to open individual inspection details.
  • User IDs are now displayed alongside recipient names when distributing reports from the list, making it easier to quickly identify and send reports to the correct person with confidence.
  • The Overview tab layout has been optimized for Spanish-language users, ensuring field labels display clearly without line-wrapping for a smoother, more readable experience.
  • The Sent To field now provides clearer visibility by accurately reflecting when an inspection is sent to a national account and subsequently declined—keeping users fully informed of their submission status.
  • The file name for device data exported via Discrepancy Quick View now follows the same naming convention as other reports, making it easier to archive and organize files consistently.
  • In response to member feedback, the Copy All function in Discrepancy Quick View now includes the building name, building ID, and inspection ID at the top of the copied data—making it easier to identify the source of the information.

ScanSeries Android (Version 1.8.12)

  • Updated the sorting of results to enhance the readability of device history. Records are now displayed in chronological order, making it easier to follow the sequence of events.

ScanSeries iOS (Version 2.39.8)

  • BRForms now displays consecutive section headers, ensuring clear and consistent form structure even when multiple Section Header elements are used back-to-back. This ensures users can clearly see which section they’re in when interacting with form elements.
  • The schedule search function has been enhanced for a smoother experience—results no longer show duplicate entries, and the updated download process now prevents buildings already in the app from being downloaded again.
  • Delay Scan timing has been improved to align precisely with the configured delay, ensuring more accurate and reliable scanning performance.
  • Users can now easily delete inspection notes using the backspace key on the on-screen keyboard, improving efficiency and ease of use on mobile devices.
  • Updated the iOS low charge notification to trigger only once per charge cycle, preventing repeated alerts each time a device is scanned. This helps reduce unnecessary interruptions during inspections.

ScanSeries Standard Reports

  • New report formats now handle line breaks more effectively when Discrepancy Reports span multiple pages. This eliminates unnecessary blank pages and makes printing more efficient and resource-friendly.

Users Page

  • The user list filter on the Users page has been enhanced to support selecting multiple user roles, making it easier to filter the list and quickly find the users you need.

Verifications UI

  • The Add Certification process in both the Employee and Company Certifications sections has been improved. Users can now reliably save or cancel entries, even if the Add Certification button is clicked more than once.
  • To ensure employee certifications appear on reports, the default behavior when adding a certification has been updated to automatically select all applications in the Show on Reports section. This guarantees visibility on reports even if that section wasn’t configured at the time the certification was added.

SchedulingManager Enhancements

  • Building ID now appears alongside names for calendar events.
  • Confirmed events display timestamps for added clarity when viewing or modifying details.

JANUARY 2025

eLearning

  • Streamlined the registration process by integrating directly with our eLearning provider. Users now access courses through your web portal without needing a separate account.

Get Reports

  • Introduced a feature to notify stakeholders when device repair pricing is updated following an inspection. To send a notification, locate your ScanSeries inspection on the relevant tab of the Get Reports page, select the Service Options icon, then click the Notify button. The notification will include a direct link to the report for easy access to the updated pricing.
  • New AHJ export tool for all BuildingReports users. Easily accessible in your portal, this tool makes gathering deficiency data a breeze. With flexible export options, you can pick individual deficiencies, copy all, or export the full list as a CSV file. You can even include passed devices with notes or recommendations. Plus, it pre-formats device-level data for easy pasting into third-party solutions. While we keep expanding our integrations, this feature is here to help you quickly meet local jurisdiction requirements.
  • New frequency options have been added to ScanSeries and the Get Reports Frequency pick-list. Now you can designate inspections as ‘Service’ and ‘Daily.’ Please note, these options are not available in SchedulingManager (calendar), Compliance Orgs, National Accounts, or other frequency lists.

IROL

  • We announced last month that we have developed a powerful new integration with IROL (Inspection Reports Online) — designed to simplify the way service providers handle fire and life safety system reports. If your company operates in a jurisdiction requiring AHJ submissions through IROL, don’t miss out on this game-changing feature! Contact membersuccess@buildingreports.com to schedule your training and activation.

Notification Manager

  • Resolved an issue preventing notifications from being sent for BRForms uploads when using the ‘Inspection Upload’ On Event.

Salesforce Integration

  • Introduced a new privilege for custom user roles, granting users access to the SF integration interface.

ScanSeries

  • Updated the Test & Inspection Frequency field to include ‘Daily’ and ‘Service’ options, offering more flexibility for daily inspections and service-only reports.
