The latest update of BuildingReports ScanSeries for both Android and iOS includes a host of updates to devices and fields associated with existing devices. While this post does not include every update in the latest release, we've selected some of the highlights to share with you in this post.
BuildingReports recommends keeping your ScanSeries app up to date with the latest release. Android users should update to version 1.1.358, while iOS users should update to version 2.25.8 in order to remain current.
Unlike the critical update for ScanSeries for Android discussed in this blog, the new update has no specific user targeted changes or improvements. But, just as with ScanSeries 1.1.344, this update is required for Symbol TC55 and Janam XM5 compatibility with the upcoming server changes.
A major app update containing a large number of changes, including: new features, fixes, and improvements to security is now available for download. All ScanSeries users on Android are strongly encouraged to install or update to this version (1.1.344) as soon as possible.
As of today, ScanSeries is no longer supported on iPhone, iPod and iPad running iOS versions older than 8.0. This specifically applies to the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4, which are unable to update to iOS version 8.0 or newer. While the 4th generation devices were released in 2010, the iPhone 4S - which was released in 2012 - can be updated up to iOS version 9.3.5 and will continue to be supported. There is no change for the iPhone 5C which has never been supported, and the Infinite Peripherals' Linea Pro sleds are not impacted unless used with an iPhone 4 or iPod Touch 4.
Upon logging into the portal users will notice a change to the list view on the Get Reports page. The Inspection Status column now features a drop down option that allows users to choose the inspections status without having to expand the report detail row by clicking the + symbol to the far left of the row. The option no longer resides within the detail section for the row, and users can save extra steps when updating the inspeciton status.
The BuildingReports development team launched a few updates to the portal overnight that you may have noticed upon logging in today. The following is a quick summary of those changes.
If you are an iOS user, you're likely aware of the challenges presented by the latest operating system updates from Apple related to version 11 intended to support their new iPhone 8 and X devices. As issues are identified in ScanSeries for iOS, our team is working hard to keep pace with new ScanSeries releases to address the problems presented in each new operating system update. In addition, SecurityScan users will notice new schema updates requested by members for financial institution facilities.
If you are an iOS user and do not have your Apple device set to auto-update applications, you'll want to make sure you manually initiate the update to take advantage of multiple improvements just released for members. BuildingReports has released a new feature that will be welcomed by users of our ScanSeries Healthcare formats. When logging into your account and viewing your reports in a healthcare format, you will notice a new designation in the legend section at the beginning of the Inspection and Testing section.
